Every Friday lunchtime (from September to July), concerts are held in church and everyone is welcome. Sandwiches and soup are available, for a small charge, in the Blackburne Hall (adjacent to the Church) from 11.30am. The concerts begin at 12.30pm and last for approximately one hour. We are lucky to have attracted a wealth of talented young people and professional musicians to come and entertain us. Admission is only £4.00, which is payable on the door.
The new season of Friday concerts began on 4 September with an organ recital by Peter Stevens. The following week marked the 200th concert to be held since they began. The programme attracts a regular audience of appreciative music lovers.
The 200th concert on 11 September was given by John Resek, violin and D Butterworth, piano. Featured in the weeks that follow up to Christmas will be the international star, James Bowman, Salford University Brass ensemble, students from Chetham’s and from
