Bury Parish Church

 

The Branch of the Mothers' Union at Bury Parish Church was founded in 1876. The Branch has approximately sixty members and meets at 7.45pm on the first Tuesday of the month in the Blackburne Hall (behind the Church), preceded by a service of Holy Communion in Church at 7.15pm.

Membership of the World-Wide Mothers' Union is open to all who have been baptised and who declare support of the Aims and Objectives. We welcome new members and have an open invitation to all, both men and women, to attend our regular meetings.

Branch Leader's Update - August 2010

Our July meeting on Herbal Medicine was very interesting and informative and we all enjoyed sampling the Herbal Teas.

I am looking for knitters who would be prepared to knit hats for the Elderly for Age Concern. 

Have a lovely summer and I hope to see you all back, duly refreshed, in September.

Forthcoming Meetings & Events

7th September 2010 - Branch Meeting - Guest Speaker: The Rector.  The meeting will commence at 7.45pm; preceded by Holy Communion at 7.15pm.

16th September 2010 - Diocesan Festival, Manchester Cathedral.

29th September 2010 - Deanery Festival, St. Anne's, Tottington.

5th October 2010 - Branch Meeting - Guest Speaker: Eric Johns, who will deliver a talk on "Old Bury".  The meeting will commence at 7.45pm; preceded by Holy Communion at 7.15pm.

2nd November 2010 - Open Meeting (anyone welcome to attend) - Guest Speaker: Heather Slater, whose topic will be "Nannie in Saudi".  The meeting will commence at 7.45pm; preceded by Holy Communion at 7.15pm.

28th November 2010 - Deanery Advent Carol Service - 2.30pm at Edenfield Parish Church.

30th November 2010 - Diocesan Advent Carol Service - further details will appear on the website in due course.

7th December 2010 - Trip to Bolton Little Theatre to see a production of "Fawlty Towers" (including supper).  Further details will appear on the website in due course.
