Bury Parish Church is the garrison church of the Lancashire Fusiliers and for those interested in regimental history a visit to the church is recommended as well as enjoying the dedicated Fusilier Museum, located a few hundred yards away on Moss Street.
The church has a number of colours hung on display, memorial tablets, record books and other artefacts. The church is open to visitors 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday (but closed Tuesday) when refreshments are also available in our coffee shop. Church services are held on Sundays at 8.00am, 10.00am and 6.30pm.
On 24 April 1915 Lancashire Fusiliers were involved in taking W Beach at Gallipoli for which the regiment won 6 VCs before breakfast. Each year a service is held in
Every Wednesday at 1.00pm the church also holds a short service (15 minutes) to commemorate all soldiers, and particularly those from this area, who have given their lives while serving their country and to remember all in the armed services who put their lives in danger around the world.
