Bury Parish Church’s Sunday School is a fun, welcoming place where children can learn, play, and grow in their faith. We run two groups — 0–5s and 5–11s — and both start together in Blackburne Hall at 10am for a short time of worship. After that, the older group heads to the Kay Room for their session.

0–5s

Our younger group enjoys a simple Bible story followed by a hands-on activity — drawing, making, or something crafty and fun. We encourage little ones to join in at their own pace, and there are always plenty of helping hands around. It’s a warm, caring space where children can play, make friends, and learn to share and cooperate.

We really want Sunday School to feel like a safe, happy place where parents feel confident leaving their children — and where the children are excited to come each week! Children can join from an early age and stay with us until their sixth birthday, when they move up to the junior group. Parents are welcome to stay, or leave their child in our care.

5–11s

Our 5–11s group is all about discovering faith in a fun, engaging way. We keep sessions light-hearted and interactive because we want kids to love coming to church and feel part of church life. Each week includes Bible-themed activities such as quizzes, games, crafts, and group challenges. We use Light Live material from Scripture Union to help children learn about Jesus in ways that make sense for their age.

It’s lively, welcoming, and full of fun — come and give it a try!
